US Capitol on lockdown due to 'security threat' nearby

The US Capitol has been placed on lockdown due to a security threat.

Police announced the lockdown which extends to all buildings including the Visitor’s Center on Tuesday, ABC 7 News reports.


Senator Tammy Baldwin, a Democrat from Wisconsin , is still talking on the floor and the House is continuing their votes as planned, Politico reports.

The lockdown is the second this week. No entry or exit is being permitted due to reports of a man with a gun near the complex.
