The vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo yesterday disclosed that the present federal government has identified the problems that make life difficult for Nigerians and will soon address them.
Osinbajo said this yesterday while on a sympathy visit to victims of a major fire disaster at Sabon Gari Market, Kano.
“The federal government knows all the problems affecting the lives of Nigerians and it will soon solve them all. We have identified the problems and we will address them,” he said.
He said that federal government would do everything possible to cushion the effects of the fire disaster on the victims.
The vice president called on the state government to evolve new strategy of modernising the market to avert similar occurrence in the future.
“There is a need for the state government to put in modern technology in the planning of market structures where accidents of this nature can effectively be averted, “ Osinbajo said.
While sympathising with the victims he insisted that, Kano state government should try as much it could to make the market a modern one.
He said that the federal government was aware of the serious hardships being faced by Nigerians in recent times.
While responding to complaints lodged to him by the Sabon-Gari Community, when he commissioned a road project, he assured the people that government would soon address all the problems facing Nigerians.
Prof Osinbajo reassured that the federal government was ready to do everything it can for Kano, as according to him it is an important state to the federal government.
“My door is always open for Kano. Kano deserves everything from the FG,” he assured.
In his address the Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje assured that the state government will do everything within its power in managing the situation effectively.
“We have since put arrangements in place to take good care of the affected victims. A powerful committee has since been formed under the chairmanship of the Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote,” Ganduje revealed.
He therefore called on the affected victims to cooperate with government while necessary steps will be taken by the state government to address all the issues.
