Emeka Ike cant be AGN President Yet- AGN Scribe

After Ibinabo Fiberesima was sent to prison actor Emeka ike, who has been fighting to be President of the actor guild of Nigeria(AGN) got the mandate to be president, but it seems it can't be possible yet since no election has been held.

Emeka’s faction had gotten a court injunction that proscribed the Ibinabo Fiberesima-led AGN. No sooner had it gotten the judgement that the faction took over the reins of power.

A statement signed by Abubacar Yaqub, AGN secretary-general reads: “The Actors Guild of Nigeria wishes to react to the statement making the rounds that the court has declared Emeka Ike president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

“The statement is totally a misinterpretation of the judgement capable of causing chaos in our noble guild. Our application for a stay of execution of the judgment of a case between St. Maradona and AGN at the Federal High Court Lagos was dismissed on 23/3/2016. It has nothing to do with Emeka Ike and his cohorts. It’s a complete misinformation and distortion of facts, borne out of desperation to cause confusion in the guild.

“There is an appeal on the same judgement pending at the appeal court, we have equally started the process of filing another motion for the stay of execution at the appeal court. Our application was not dismissed for lack of merit but as a result of some mistakes in judicial process. Why all the hues and cries? The appeal is ongoing; besides Emeka Ike never went through any electoral process to become president of AGN. How can one become president without standing for elections? The struggle to lay claim to power at all cost is tarnishing our reputation.”
