Oscar Pistorius has been refused the right to appeal his murder conviction and faces a minimum 15 years in jail when he is sentenced next month.
He was convicted of manslaughter after he shot dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013.But last year judges upgraded the 29-year-old's conviction to murder.
Pistorius' legal team challenged that decision, but today South Africa's Constitutional Court rejected his appeal after it ruled the case had "no prospect of success".
Oscar who has spent the last few months under house arrest at his uncle's home in Pretoria , is due back in court on April 18 for sentencing.
