Happy Sunday and happy Valentine....
Its 4pm time for our discussion as women....the women round table.
So sorry I couldn't bring it last week, my daughter wasn't so strong.....well, am here today.
Our discussion for today is Domestic Violence(DV)....
Domestic violence is when a partner attacks another partner in an abusive way, it could be physically, emotionally, mentally etc.
Domestic violence is not only suffered by women men also go through DV but women are the most hit, so am going to dwell on the women folks.(sorry guys)
A lot of women go through DV in their marriages to the extent that some of them now see or take it to be the normal thing.
It has gotten so bad that Some will even tell you that if your husband doesn't beat you it means he doesn't love you or he is cheating on you.(WHAT! I wonder how we got here)
Some men even see it has a thing of pride to beat their wives....it shows they are the real men.(story)
I have read lots of cases from different women, and I have been dead and brought back to life by their stories.
Sometimes I wonder what really happened from the sweet loving boyfriend to the monster of a husband.
Why do we women accept such calamity on us....is it fear of being single again? Or what....
Who do we blame here!
Some women will tell you they can't go back to their parents house, because they will chase them back to their husband's house that they should go and be a submissive wife.
One said her mother told her to go back because she doesn't want to be a laughing stock, while the father asked her to go back and stop being stubborn..... Like seriously!!!
Dear parents, which one do you prefer a dead married daughter or a single happily child who is alive.
Don't send your daughters back to their husband, stand by your daughters they really need you at that moment.
I remember reading a story where an elderly man was crying like a baby at his daughter's burial, he said he will never forgive himself because she came to him times without number he sent her back saying there is nothing like divorce in the bible, she should go back and work on her marriage......and the end result was her death.
Dear religious, we know there's is nothing like divorce in the bible but God won't want you to die in a loveless marriage, that's why he gave us sense/brain to make decisions.
OK, we get you don't want to get divorced, why don't you separate for a while and see if you can work things out and if you can't 'Nne take the next available flight'
Dear men, if you are frustrated by whatever issue, lack of money, your wife nags etc beating her is not the solution(if you want to fight why don't you go and fight your fellow man)you guys can work things out amicably or go for counseling if its that bad.
You have no reason at all to hit your wife no reason at all....
Go and see a real counselor, your pastor isn't a counselor( I know lots of people will hate me for this)
Dear Mrs, why are you still in a loveless marriage where he beats the crap out of you, you are scared of being single, take a cue from the actress Monalisa, she left her ex husband before he would kill her and now she has found love again about to get married.
You will always get back on your feet again, its not the end of the road.
You don't want to leave because people will laugh at you, do you remember Beverly of big brother....when she was in the house people talked and made fun of her, now people can't even remember her.....what am I saying, no matter what people will talk and laugh but at a time they will forget and move on to another issue.
If you don't love your self please leave for the sake of your child/children if you die who will take care of your kids....nobody can take care of your kids better than you.
Take the first step by separating from the monster your husband as turned into because life no get duplicate.
See you guys next week.....
