Vanity fair features leading Hollywood actresses across racial boundaries cover on her new issue

In the light of the ongoing Oscars all white parade and the possibility of some African American actors boycotting the event which would be holding on the 28th of February,
Vanity Fair Hollywood 2016 seems to have responded to that by bringing together the best of Hollywood actresses that have either been nominated or won the Academy Awards.

The middle spread cover features the ladies doning classy black gowns in that strong, independent, and unified women spirit regardless of colour, age or achievements.

The picture taken by Annie Leibovitz features Jane Fonda, Cate Blanchett, Viola Davis, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlotte Rampling, Brie Larsen, Rachel Weisz, Lupita Nyong’o, Alicia Vikander, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Helen Mirren, Saoirse Ronan, and Diane Keaton.

All of these actresses have also won big in other Awards and have been nominated for the Academy Awards at one time or the other or have won.

This is a pictorial image that emphasises the fact that Hollywood is not just about the white people but encompasses different, powerful actresses across racial boundaries.

It is also a reinstatement or a message to Hollywood about the much talked about gender and age disparity in the industry.

There are speculations, as confirmed by Catherine Zeta-Jones that Hollywood tries to boycott its mattresses who are in their 40s, and also there is another that the male actors seem to get paid more than their female counterparts.

This picture has shown that age and gender should not be a barrier to being a force to be reckoned with, and Hollywood, really, might be nothing without its women.
