Police in Pueblo, Colorado, have arrested and charged with murder the grandson of a 77-year-old woman whose body was discovered more than four months ago inside a burning home.
According to a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Anthony Sena, 29, was arrested Monday and charged with murdering Susan Hernandez.
Firefighters responding to a small fire at Hernandez's home on July 29 discovered the grandmother's remains.
An autopsy later revealed that Hernandez – a mother of seven and grandmother of 15 – did not die as a result of the fire but was beaten to death and sustained severe blunt force trauma to the head.
Police have not disclosed a motive for the alleged murder.
Sena was arrested Monday morning and is being held at the Pueblo County Jail.
Court records in the case have been sealed.
