Stephanie thought they were competing against other couples as part of a game and raced around the city following clues.
The first challenge was to take a selfie by a water fountain, and after the couple did so, they were handed a red rose with the next clue.
They then took a selfie outside Buckingham Palace and accumulated more and more clues as the day and the treasure hunt progressed.
After a long trip through London - posing for pictures in front of iconic buildings, statues and even a red telephone box - the couple learned that they were 'winning'.

Andy wanders off and pretends to take a phone call, leaving Stephanie to work out the answer to the next clue
They took a black cab to St Paul's Cathedral and on the way talked about the first time they met in a gym when Stephanie made the first move.
Once at their destination the pair received another clue and while they waited to work it out, Andy wandered off and pretended to take a phone call.
On her own, Stephanie worked out that the answer to the clue was 'press play on the iPad' and took it upon herself to investigate - as Andy had hoped.
She then discovered a video showing Andy proposing to her numerous times over the last few months - while eating breakfast in the morning and even with the help of the dog.
Andy then returned to take Stephanie to the first place they both said 'I love you' and dropped to one knee to pop the question.
A gobsmacked Stephanie said 'yes' with tears of joy in her eyes and the clip concluded with the pair walking off together hand in hand.
THE PROPOSAL PLANNERS
The One Romance gets to know the couple so that they can help create a bespoke proposal idea, personal to the people involved.
After a consultation the company creates two unique proposal ideas - one will then be picked by the client and can be fine-tuned.
The company select an exclusive location, book photographers/videographers, and start creating the personalised details for the proposal.
On the day of the proposal a representative from the company will be behind the scenes to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
